SAINT JOHN, N.B. – With revenues up approximately $2-million and the construction of the new cruise ship terminal well underway, the president and CEO of the Port of Saint John sees a bright future in the city.

Jim Quinn announced this morning at the Port’s annual general meeting that Saint John saw increases in shipment and continues to be a strong player in the cruise ship market.

He says this year, the Port will focus on Latin American countries, such as Brazil.

“Brazil produces commodities of things that can be consumed here in Canada. We want to show those folks that we have excellent business leaders in New Brunswick who can partner with them in facilitating the movement of those goods in through to the big population centres.”

The Port of Saint John currently ships potash to Brazil.
