MONCTON, NB–A 36-year-old Moncton man has been sentenced to two years in prison on a charge of possession of child pornography.

Shawn Vatcher was sentenced today after pleading guilty in a Moncton courtroom yesterday.

Vatcher was arrested on February 21, after police received a call from a computer repair business that discovered child sexual abuse images on a computer.

In addition to the prison sentence, Vatcher will be on probation for three years after he is released.

He will also be added to the national sex offender registry for the next ten years.
