SAINT JOHN, N.B.- Its out with the old and in with the new mayor and city council
It was a night of celebration and tradition as the new city of Saint John Mayor Mel Norton was sworn in at city hall last night.
Along with the Mayor, ten councillors were sworn in including for the first time four women including former Mayor Shirley MacAlary.
Councillor-at-large Shelly Rinehart was selected as the city’s deputy-mayor. “I’m very excited to be part of the team that’s going to move our city forward and I’m very excited to get started”, says Rinehart.
Only two city councillors, Bill Farren and Donnie Snook, are returning for another term
