ROTHESAY, N.B.- Today is the deadline for nominations for the June 25th by-election in Rothesay.
The Conservatives, Liberals, and NDP have all nominated candidates.
The issue surrounding MLA Margaret Ann Blaney’s resignation and subsequent appointment as C.E.O. of Efficiency New Brunswick is bound to be a major issue in the campaign.
Liberal candidate John Wilcox says he’s been hearing about it around the community. “What I’m finding, even among Conservatives that I’ve talked to and I mean people who have been Conservatives all their lives…they are highly disappointed in this government”, says Wilcox
Wilcox says he’s concerned about a number of issues in the community, including a quarry in the Fox Farm Road area and the way the Saint John Regional Hospital is being treated by the province.
By-election candidates to be finalized today
Liberal candidate says lots of patronage talk in the community.
