SAINT JOHN, N.B.- Court appearances yesterday for four people charged in an armed robbery Wednesday night on the east side.

18 year old Nicholas Roy, 20 year old Jeremy Robinson, and 21 year old Samantha Hopey are facing armed robbery charges with Roy and Robinson also charged with wearing a mask to commit an indictable offence.

A 16 year old girl, whose name can’t be released because of her age, is also facing charges.

Court was told a sawed off shotgun was used in the robbery at Handi’s Convenience on Gull Street and netted thieves some cash, cigarettes, and potato chips.

The 16 year old girl will undergo a psychiatric assessment and will return to court July 5th. The other three have been remanded until a bail hearing on Monday.
