SAINT JOHN, N.B. – So far, the Saint John Police Force is under budget in 2012.

As of the end of April, the force was under it’s operating budget by over $333,000, or by 4.5%.

Police Chief Bill Reid says the under budget total may change slightly within the coming weeks.

“We’re obviously talking about April so we received all the bills up to that point but we know there are other bills out there that need to come in. But we are under budget and that’s a positive thing.”

The chief adds he’s optimistic the force will come in under budget at the end of the year, as they have for the past few.
