(Saint John)-John Ferguson who is a former Saint John city councillor was back in court today to argue before Justice William Grant that the city’s pension board should pay his $2.5 million in defence costs.
But the board’s lawyer will argue Ferguson should not be compensated at all, despite winning the board’s defamation lawsuit against him.
The pension board sued Ferguson in 2007 over a series of statements he made as a city councillor about poor management of the city’s $400-million pension fund.
Mr. Justice William Grant gave no indication when a decision will be made.
