MONCTON, NB – It feels like it’s already here, but summer doesn’t officially arrive until 8:09 tonight.

The summer solstice, when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, signifies the longest day of the year with an average of nearly 16 hours of daylight.

Beginning tomorrow, the days will begin to shorten.

But don’t fret…there will be plenty of beach days over the next few months.

Meteorologist Richard Zurawski tells us this summer is expected to be warmer and drier than average.

The season is already off to a fine start, with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the mid to upper 20′s over the next couple of days.
