SAINT JOHN, N.B.- Ambulance NB is confident there will be no ill-effect on services to the people of Grand Manan as a result of an expired contract between Ambulance New Brunswick and Atlantic Charters.

As of July 1st, the 30 year service that saw the transportation of ill or injured Grand Manan residents to hospitals on the mainland ended.

Patients on the Island will now have the usage of ANB’s air ambulance services as well as the sick bay on the new Grand Manan Ferry.

While Grand Manan Mayor Dennis Green declined to comment on the situation, he has confirmed a meeting between officials on Grand Manan and Health Minister Madeleine Dube later this month.
