MONCTON, N.B. – New Brunswick’s Tourism Minister Trevor Holder admits the province needs to be more aggressive with its tourism after a report suggests the province’s tourism sector will see its’ tourism sector will experience the smallest growth in the country this year.
The report, by the Conference Board of Canada, predicts New Brunswick will only see approximately 2.9-million more people stay overnight in the province; an increase of 1%.
Trevor Holder says he’s interested in seeing the report. “We’ll take an opportunity to see what they were zeroing in on and take some time to analyze that. If there are some areas of concern then we will take that seriously.”
Holder adds he’s proud of the direction the tourism department is heading in and how it continues to grow.
