SAINT JOHN, N.B. – The call for an upgrade to the city’s Trade and Convention Centre has been renewed.
The Enterprise Saint John Tourism Advisory Committee has recognized the convention and conference business as a big money maker for the city.
Committee member Mike Belliveau says conventions brings business to more than just hotels. “It’s taxis, restaurants, bars, florists, decorators, people who aren’t directly impacted by the tourism industry, they are directly impacted by a vibrant trade centre and convention business.”
Belliveau says the current trade and convention centre needs to upgrade it’s meeting spaces, internet connections, and it’s layout.
