MONCTON, NB – The trial of a Shenstone man accused of murdering a 25-year-old woman almost two years ago is scheduled to get underway this week.

Thirty-three-year-old Fred Prosser is facing several charges including the first degree murder and sexual assault of a Riverview woman.

She had been missing for about a week when her body was found in the Shenstone area in November of 2010.

Prosser has elected trial by judge and jury.

Four weeks have been set aside for the proceedings.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin tomorrow morning.

Prosser appeared briefly in Provincial Court in Moncton this morning as a series of unrelated charges were set over until September 27th.
