SAINT JOHN, N.B. -Investigators discovered a gun along the shore of the Courtney Bay causeway.
A gun in a plastic bag was pulled from the area before 7:30pm last night.
Police spokesperson Glen Hayward confirmed to the Telegraph Journal the search was in connection to the Pitt Street murder investigation.
Police say the weapon will undergo forensic testing to determine if it’s related to any ongoing criminal offence.
St. Mary’s criminology professor Steve Snider says a lot of questions continue to surround the murder,…even though Matthew Foley, the president of the Bacchus motorcycle club, has been charged with 2nd degree murder.
“What is the nature of this murder? Is he carrying a firearm? What kind of firearm is it?”
Police believe the victim, Michael Schimpf and his assailant knew each other and that the shooting was not biker gang related.
