SAINT JOHN, N.B. – The facelift of Market Place West received a financial boost from the province this morning.
Carl Killen, the MLA for Saint John Harbour, announced $775,000 of funding for the asphalt resurfacing of numerous city streets, including Market Place West.
Mayor Mel Norton says these projects are important as roads are the first impression of a city for tourists.
“That goes to restoring the confidence in the community and the impression of those visiting the city and that’s really important to us.”
Norton says the work on Market Place is key to the revitalization of the neighbourhood.
