SAINT JOHN, N.B.- The President and C.E.O. of Saint John Energy says a deal signed between the province and Siemens Canada looks to the future for the local utility
NB Power has signed a deal that will see an investment in technology and educate customers, as well as offer businesses and residents more control over their energy consumption.
Eric Marr says in the long term this Smart Grid technology will be good news for Saint John Energy customers. “In the short term it should have very little impact on our customers and their use of electricity”, says Marr. “In the longer term it should go a long way in maintaining low rates for all customers of the electric utility, both ours and NB Power”.
Under the agreement, Siemens will open a new research and development centre in Fredericton.
