SAINT JOHN, N.B. – The prosecution declined to comment yesterday, as a judge decided to place the information in the search warrants. connected to the Richard Oland murder investigation, under a publication ban until Thursday.
During the nearly six hour closed door court session, Judge R. Leslie Jackson heared the prosecution, and the lawyers representing the Oland family, debate which, if any, information in the search warrants should be released to the public.
The publication ban will be lifted on Thursday morning as another four search warrants are discussed.
The lawyer representing local media outlets, David Coles, will also return to court Thursday to argue if more information should be released from the documents.
Richard Oland was found murdered in his uptown office last July.
Police have been tight-lipped on the details surrounding the case.
