SAINT JOHN – Organizers are hoping a weekend benefit will raise enough money for a proper funeral and headstone for a young Saint John area woman who died under suspicious circumstances in February.
Serena Perry, 22, was a patient at the Saint John Regional Hospital when her body was found just past midnight on February 15th.
“We’re trying to pay for her funeral and her tombstone to let the young girl go to rest,” said Barry McGrath, one of the organizers of the event.
The benefit gets underway Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Grove Lounge on Golden Grove Road.
Anyone with donations is asked to call 639-7079 or 214-2186.
