MIRAMICHI, NB – A former high school principal in Miramichi has pleaded guilty to two counts of luring children over the internet.
Thirty-seven year old Kirk Leigh Matheson remains on release in the community and returns to court for sentencing on November 13th.
The former principal of North and South Esk High was originally facing four counts including two of possessing and attempting to commission child pornography.
Those charges were withdrawn by the crown yesterday.
Matheson was arrested back in April as part of an investigation by the RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
The charges date back to February of this year.
