SAINT JOHN, N.B. – The final part of the Peel Plaza project has been approved by common council.

Last night, common council narrowly approved an almost $1.8-million bid to finish the grounds of Peel Plaza.

Councillor Shirley McAlary says the city needs to accept this space and take care of it.

“I feel that these buildings are worth a lot of money. Let’s make them look proper. Let’s do it right.”

Bird Construction Group will be in charge of building the park, installing sidewalks around the facility and landscaping the grounds.
