FREDERICTON, N.B. – Six people have been selected to restructure New Brunswick’s electoral boundaries.
Premier David Alward announced co-chairs Annise Hollies and Allan Maher, as well as the other four commissioners to the Electoral Boundaries and Representation Commission this afternoon.
The commission will redraw the boundaries of the province’s electoral ridings, replacing the current 55 ridings with 49 ridings to be used in the next general provincial election.
The cuts will also reduce the number of MLAs the province has.
The commission will report its findings to the legislative assembly.
Alward is encouraging all New Brunswickers to assist the commission by providing input.
