SAINT JOHN – Justice Hugh McLellan has handed a Saint John Police officer three months in jail after he was found guilty of criminal harassment and common assault.
Christopher Robert Messer, 39, was charged following a break-in at his home on Westfield Road in 2010.
Messer, who had eleven years of service on the city police force, was sentenced to one month for intimidating behavour on Brett McAdam and two months for assault on Randy King.
McAdam, in a victim impact statement read by the judge, told the court he was now afraid of police.
