SAINT JOHN, N.B. – Members of Common Council are weighing in on the possibility of future retail development in west Saint John.
City planners heard a number of suggestions from a new movie theatre to more family restaurants at a public meeting on Thursday.
Ward 1 Councillor Bill Farren says more west side development should reduce traffic congestion in the east.
“When I go to Sobeys or Canadian Tire on the west side I see north-enders here. They say they come here to alleviates a lot of the traffic and the problems they have trying to get east.”
Councillor Greg Norton is also looking to get more information about a possible round-about at Simm’s Corner, although some residents say the intersection should remain as it is.
