OTTAWA – Canada’s unemployment rate held steady in August, but the news wasn’t as good in Saint John, nor the rest of the province.
Statistics Canada says the economy added 34,300 jobs, which helped the national unemployment rate stay at 7.3%.
New Brunswick’s rate increased from 10% to 10.4%.
Saint John also jumped 0.4% from 8.6% to 9%.
