GRAND MANAN – The Grand Manan RCMP has arrested two men in connection with the discovery and dismantling of a marihuana grow operation on Grand Manan.
The grow operation was discovered Wednesday night, as an RCMP officer was following up on a possible traffic violation that had occurred earlier in the evening.
An all-terrain vehicle had been travelling on Route 776 and had failed to stop for police.
The officer tracked the ATV to a residence on Route 776.
A search warrant was obtained and the residence, a garage and the surrounding property were subsequently searched.
Police found and dismantled indoor and outdoor grow operations, and seized a quantity of marihuana plants, as well as six firearms.
A 58-year-old man and a 36-year-old man, both from Grand Manan were arrested and later released on conditions.
They are scheduled to appear in Grand Manan Provincial Court on November 15 to face drug-related charges.
