SAINT JOHN, N.B. – The Human Development Council has a message for Saint John MP Rodney Weston to take back to the House of Commons.
With the federal Homelessness Partnering Strategy set to expire in March 2014, the council wants it to be renewed.
Executive director Randy Hatfield says the funding program has served the country very well.
“Homelessness is a very complicated social issue and we do know that we need resources to fund community-based operations properly that are on the front lines people who are marginalizes, vulnerable and homeless.”
61 communities across Canada take advantage of the Homelessness Partnering Strategy each year.
