SAINT JOHN, N.B. – An organizer of a recent job fair in the province says too many young people are feeling pressure to go to university when they might be better suited for the trades.
Bill Best is a spokesman for the New Brunswick Community Colleges in the province.
He says there is a lot of work right now for people who have a skilled trade.
“Whether it be electrical or plumbing, or carpentry, or brick laying, or what have you, there’s lots of work for people with trades skills.”
Best says there is a growing shortage of skilled tradespeople in the province of New Brunswick.
