(Fredericton)-Enbridge Gas will now have to cut natural gas rates for business customers in the province by 50 per cent or more by Oct. 1st, after a ruling by the provincial Energy and Utilities Board.
Gilles Volpe is General Manager for Enbridge and says because of the ruling the company will have to cut back on expansion.
” Now were still going to add customers who we have pipe in front of right now so were going to target those customers to add them to the system to try to reduce cost to everybody but has far as expansion it’s going to be very very limited”
Enbridge had been ordered by the provincial government to apply for substantial rate cuts last winter after negotiations between the government and the company broke down.
