SAINT JOHN, N.B.- The Superintendent of the Anglophone South School District is putting to rest rumours surrounding the school hockey program.
There were concerns the program would not be offered this year but Zoe Watson says it is still going ahead.
Watson admits the district is looking to make a change next year. “We are looking to transition the program from a school league to a community league similar to other sport community leagues that we would have in the area”, says Watson. “Discussions on that move actually began last year”.
Watson says last year school hockey was offered in 19 schools in the region.
