SAINT JOHN, N.B. – Construction on the Harbour Bridge refurbishment has hit a new phase – and that’s good news for motorists for the rest of the year.
The Department of Transportation says all work on the westbound lanes has been completed.
Workers removed the pylons and barricades blocking the right lane yesterday, creating two lanes of free-flowing traffic.
A spokesman says workers will spend the rest of the construction season preparing the eastbound side of the bridge future work.
But he says there are no lane reductions planned until the spring.
DOT says the refurbishment is on track to be completed next fall.
