SAINT JOHN, N.B. – It appears mixed martial arts may be down for the count in Quispamsis.
The town’s solicitor says there is no provincial legislation to allow for an event to be held at the qplex.
Promoter Ed Hoyt made a presentation to town council in hopes of bringing M.M.A. to the Kennebecasis Valley.
Quispamsis Mayor Murray Driscoll says the potential economic benefit to the town had no bearing on Council’s decision. “Of course we want to use our facilities and maximize their potential. But in this case it was based on advice from our solicitor.”
Hoyco Productions says it is continuing it’s fight to bring MMA to the Saint John region.
