SAINT JOHN, N.B. – An organized effort is underway in an attempt to make Saint John businesses more sustainable from an ecological perspective.

More than one hundred people attended the official launch of “Sustainable Saint John” last night.

Group member Brian Irving tells us small business can become better off financially by embracing the initiative.

“In the process of doing all these things to reduce waste streams or your energy consumption or your water consumption, you actually do save so it’s very relevant today.”

Irving says “Sustainable Saint John” is both a knowledge-based and education-based organization with the main goal of increasing its membership.
