SAINT JOHN, N.B. – After months of shaking hands and signing up new members, either Mike Murphy, Brian Gallant, or Nick Duivenvoorden will be announced as the new leader of the provincial Liberal Party this weekend in Moncton.
12,000 registered voters have cast their ballots.
As former premier, Shawn Graham has a bit of advice to the new leader. “It’s important for them to share the ideas that all candidates brought to the table. Then work with liberals across the province to get new people engaged in the party because there is so much at stake for the future of our province. It really has to be all hands on deck.
Graham stepped down at leader of the Liberal party in 2010, after the Liberals became the first party in New Brunswick to be voted out of office after only one term.
The next leader will be announced Saturday night.
