MONCTON, NB -The Royal Canadian Legion is kicking off its annual poppy campaign.

Poppies will be available at kiosks and points of sale across the region from today until November 10th, the day before Remembrance Day.

The bright red flowers are worn each year as a symbol of remembrance of the many Canadians who have died in combat and peacekeeping operations around the world.

Donation boxes are available wherever you find poppies on display.

Proceeds raised go to help veterans, provide student bursaries and fund prizes for school Remembrance Day contests.
