FREDERICTON, N.B. – The New Brunswick government is apologizing for a photo that was altered to remove union protesters and uploaded to the province’s website.

The picture was posted along with a news release promoting the official opening of a new highway last Thursday.

It showed school children on a road in Pennfield, New Brunswick, and in the background there were several blurry protest signs partially removed.

The government took down the photo Wednesday and posted a note online saying it was taken by an outside photographer and shouldn’t have been placed on the website.
