SAINT JOHN, N.B. – Saint John Police Chief Bill Reid says the department’s move to their new location in Peel Plaza is slightly ahead of schedule.

It’s expected most departments could be in to the $20-million facility by the end of the week.

Reid says the new digs will help people do their jobs better. “It certainly is important to have 21st century facilities to do what we need to do out there. Policing is complex and we need to keep changing to meet those changes.”

The force has been working out of five floors in City Hall for more than thirty years.
