PERTH-ANDOVER – The union representing workers at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Perth-Andover says jobs are being cut from the hospital in the aftermath of flooding earlier this year.

The province is coming under fire for announcing services like obstetrics won’t return to the hospital.

“We’ve now heard that we’ve lost 26 positions,” said New Brunswick CUPE rep Ralph McBride, speaking on The Todd Veinotte Show.

McBride said jobs affected include nursing, food service workers and housekeeping.

He said the nurses’ union is also losing several RN positions.

A report out of Perth-Andover said 53 jobs are affected in all.
