SAINT JOHN, N.B.- Some residents of Southern New Brunswick woke up to some snow on the ground this morning.

A nor’easter which is battering the U.S Northeast region still recovering from Superstorm Sandy is the same system hitting the province today.

Meteorologist Richard Zurawski says any snow or mixed precipitation was short lived with temperatures approaching double digits today. ” It looks like we got a bit of a cold front moving through yesterday(Wednesday) which gave us the cooler temperatures and now a warm front is moving through”, says Zurawski.”With the warm front we’ve got precipitation but it started out as ice pellets, freezing rain, and snow”.

Snowy and slushy weather actually resulted in schools in the McAdam and Harvey areas being closed today.

Rain, wind, and showers will end by tomorrow morning and Zurawski says seasonal to above seasonal temperatures will continue into the weekend.
