OROMOCTO – A woman from the Oromocto First Nation has been sentenced to three years in jail in connection with an attempted armed robbery at an Oromocto restaurant two months ago.
Police say a woman entered a McDonald’s on September 18th with a blanket over her head.
She was carrying syringes and demanded money from the employee.
No money was taken, as the employee locked herself in a back office and called the RCMP.
A 30-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the incident on September 21.
30-year-old Cassandra Paul was charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, and being disguised with intent to commit an offence.
She pleaded guilty to the robbery while the second charge was withdrawn.
Paul has also been ordered to provide a DNA sample for the National DNA bank and is subject to a 10-year firearms prohibition.
