(Fredericton)- The Green party leader in New Brunswick is calling on the
provincial government to create a disaster fund to cover the costs
of damage caused by severe weather.
David Coon says Premier David Alward should set up public
disaster insurance for people living in areas at risk of damage from
climate change.
Coon made the comments at a conference looking at ways
communities can cope with a changing climate.
He says private insurance is not an option, so the province
should look to a public insurance fund.
