SAINT JOHN, N.B. – Brian Gallant will be in the Port City tonight for his first appearance as the official leader of the New Brunswick Liberals.

The event at the Hilton is part of a 12-stop tour of the province where Gallant hopes to connect with residents an learn the issues facing everyday New Brunswickers.

Gallant admits this will be the first time in history that the Fredericton legislature will open without the leader of the official opposition having a seat.

He says while there are disadvantages of not having a seat, he does have a plan. “The advantage it comes with is that while Victor and the rest of the caucus do a great job in the legislature, I can still tour around the province and meet New Brunswickers to gather information and solutions to the challenges we face.”

The Liberal caucus will meet in Saint John over the next two days.

The Legislature opens on November 27th.
