FREDERICTON, N.B. – Accusations of the new leader of the New Brunswick Liberals being a “yes man” to the party faithful are being denied by Brian Gallant.
Over the weekend, Premier David Alward wished Gallant well but suggested his supporters were the same people who advised former premier Shawn Graham, which is how Gallant won the position.
Even after the blistering comments, Gallant says the province’s fiscal situation is too serious to practice politics as usual and wants to work co-operatively with Alward.
“I’m willing to work with the Premier to find solutions. To collaborate on finding proactive, positive ideas so we can face the challenges we face in the province. That offer is on the table and will continue to be on the table.”
Gallant adds co-operation is needed in the legislature during these tough economic times.
