SAINT JOHN, N.B.- Get ready to give!

The 100th annual Empty Stocking Fund starts at noon on Saturday, which will bring Christmas to two thousand children in need in the Saint John area.

Event organizer Jill Whittaker says the Fund’s goal is $200-thousand for their centennial year. “There’s a great need in Saint John”, says Whittaker. “I’m hearing from my churches and the Department of Social Development that the need is great this year, they’re seeing more applicants early and we will need every one of your dollars”.

The Empty Stocking Fund will air on News 88.9 and Rogers TV starting at noon on Saturday. A live feed will also be shown in Brunswick Square, Market Square, as well as on-line.

A new website has also been set up emptystockingfund.ca where donations can also be made.
