FREDERICTON, N.B.- The Alward government is expected to unveil it’s blueprint for the shale gas industry this week.

A citizens march yesterday in Fredericton on the shale gas issue also included people in support of the practice.

Lorne Amos is President of the Miramichi Valley Shale Gas Advisory Committee. “We needs jobs for New Brunswickers”, says Amos. “We have thousands that are working out west. Their families are here and they’re suffering. They can work here in New Brunswick as well as they can work out there. Secondly we have multi billion dollar debt here in this province and this is a chance to bring it out”

Amos says people concerned about environmental impacts of shale gas should look to Alberta where he says it’s been done for 125 years with safe waters.
