MONCTON, NB – The defence could begin its case in a Moncton courtroom today in the first degree murder trial of Fred Prosser.
Prosser is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Sabrina Patterson.
The Crown called dozens of witnesses including four people who testified Prosser told them he wanted to physically harm, kill or choke Patterson.
A pathologist who performed the autopsy testified Patterson suffered injuries to her head, neck and vagina and died of manual strangulation.
A forensic expert told the court that Prosser’s DNA was found on Patterson’s neck and her blood was found on a pair of his jeans and in his truck.
Patterson’s body was found off Shaw Road in Shenstone November 6, 2010 after she had been reported missing for eight days.
It’s still not clear if Prosser will take the stand in his own defence, his lawyers outline their intentions today.
