MONCTON, NB – Closing submissions will be heard today in the first degree murder trial of Fred Prosser.
The 33-year-old Shenstone man is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Sabrina Patterson.
The Crown called dozens of witnesses during the case but the defence chose not to call anyone.
Sabrina’s brother Dale Patterson says he was expecting Prosser to take the stand in his own defence.
“Yes I would have liked to hear what he had to say… but then again, I don’t know if I want to hear it or not to tell you the truth,” noted Patterson.
Justice George Rideout will meet with the Crown and the defence later today to help prepare his instructions to the jury.
Rideout will charge the jury on Monday before they begin their deliberations.
