SAINT JOHN, N.B. – While Operation Red Nose will not be offered in Saint John this year there appears to be a glimmer of hope for the future.

FUSION SJ chair Jane McEachern says due to all the media exposure over the last week, a couple of insurance companies have contacted her, interested in participating next year.

She says a lack of insurance coverage is why the program isn’t being offered in Saint John this holiday season. “In the past the insurance policy had been sponsored at either the national or provincial level. This is the first year that we required as a local host to get insurance coverage and unfortunately we weren’t even able to obtain a quote.”

Operation Red Nose has been providing drives to residents all around the greater Saint John region since 2008.

The program is still being offered in Oromocto and the Acadian Peninsula.
