SAINT JOHN – The new council in Saint John is riding high in popularity, according to a new poll.
The numbers accumulated last month by Corporate Research Associates say three-quarters of residents in the City of Saint John indicated they were satisfied with new Mayor Mel Norton and the rest of Common Council.
“It appears the new mayor of Saint John is off to a favourable start in his mandate,” according to Don Mills, Chairman and CEO of Corporate Research Associates. “There is little doubt that residents have higher expectations of the current council than the previous one.”
Councils in surrounding communities enjoyed a six-of-ten satisfaction rate.
The results are contained in the CRA Saint John Urban Report.
