HALIFAX – If an election were called today in New Brunswick, the race would be a dead-heat between the Tories and Liberals, according to a new poll by Corporate Research Associates.

The poll of 400 people between Nov. 13 and Dec. 1 shows both the Liberals and Conservatives with a 38 percent approval rating among respondents while the New Democrats saw their support fall to 18 percent.

When it comes to who would be the best leader for the province, Premier David Alward and the new Liberal leader Brian  Gallant were in a dead heat with 29 percent while support for Dominic Cardy of the NDP slipped to 11 per-cent.

Green Party Leader David Coon was picked as the best person to be premier by five per cent of respondents.
