The court heard that Curran was using drugs at the time of the home invasion and assault earlier this year.
Court heard Curran went into the man’s bedroom while he was asleep and crawled around on the floor looking for a wallet.
The victim woke up and that’s when Curran threatened the man with a hatchet that was sitting on a bedside table.
