SAINT JOHN – The annual Feast of Christmas was held today at the Centre of Hope on St. James Street, serving between 300 and 500 Christmas meals to people in our community.

Salvation Army Captain Rodney Bungay says the number of people who are in need of a hot meal during the annual event increases every year.

“The demand is going through the roof at times, but we always have enough,” Bungay says. “We always plenty to go around.”

A number of volunteers helped serve today’s meals along with members of the fire and police departments.
